These early pieces were written from the perspective that little attention had been paid to further developing the impressionist style in music, and that still a lot had to be discovered there. I was quite well aware of the dislike for such an idea in the modernistic world of those days, which is reflected in the title. However, the title also covers the musical content.
Originally, the title was given to the first piece of this bundle (1965), but I was convinced by friends that it more sounded as an introduction. So, it was accordingly renamed to Prelude and more pieces followed, all hosted under the original name conforming the above idea.
Completed in 1974/1975 shortly before the "Amateur Componisten Festival" where it was performed by myself as later broadcasted by Dutch radio.
